Linear potentiometer

A linear potentiometer is a potentiometer whose sliding contacts move in a straight line along the length of the resistive material. The relationship between its output voltage and sliding position is linear, that is, the change in sliding position is directly proportional to the change in output voltage. This makes linear potentiometers very suitable for applications that require precise voltage regulation. For example, in audio devices, users can adjust the volume to the desired level through a linear potentiometer. Rotary potentiometer
